Field-induced transition in the paramagnetic state of „Sm0.65Sr0.35...MnO3 associated with magnetic clusters

چکیده
The susceptibility of ~Sm0.65Sr0.35!MnO3 shows an unusual temperature dependence above the Curie temperature which is attributed to the presence of small manganese-ion clusters with S'9. A field-induced transition is observed in the paramagnetic state, which corresponds to a doubling of the cluster size and an increase of the strength of the interaction between them. The continuous transition from small to large clusters is interpreted in terms of electron phase segregation in a two-phase region. Magnetic hysteresis in the paramagnetic state is ascribed to potential fluctuations due to Sr substitution. Magnetoresistance measurements correlate with the magnetic measurements by showing a change of regime from quadratic to linear in field when the magnetic transition is induced. Thermal hysteresis of about 8 K in the magnetization and resistivity around the Curie temperature (TC5120 K) is also related to the existence of the two paramagnetic phases. @S0163-1829~99!07741-3#

Electric-Field-Induced Triplet to Singlet Transition in Size-2 Trigonal Zigzag Graphene Nanoflake
Using Hartree-Fock Su-Sheriffer-Heeger (HF-SSH) model, we have studied the dependence of the energies of the ground (magnetic triplet state) and the first exited (nonmagnetic singlet state) states of the size-2 trigonal zigzag graphene nanoflake (size-2 NF) on the intensity of an external in plane static electric field at zero temperature. We identify a transition from the magnetic triplet stat...
متن کاملComposition dependence of magnetocaloric effect in Sm 1 - x Sr x MnO 3 ( x = 0 . 3 - 0 . 5 )
We investigated magnetic and magnetocaloric properties in Sm1-xSrxMnO3 (x = 0.300.5). We report a magnetic field driven first-order metamagnetic transition in the paramagnetic state in x = 0.4 and 0.5 and a second-order transition in x = 0.3. The highest magnetic entropy (-Sm = 6.2 J/kgK for H = 5 T at T = 125 K) that occurs in x = 0.4 is associated with the metamagnetic transition resulting ...

We have investigated the static and dynamical response of magnetic clusters in Co0.2Zn0.8Fe1.6Ti0.4O4 spinel oxide, where a sequence of magnetic phase transitions, i.e, paramagnetic(PM) to ferromagnetic (FM) state at TC ≤ 270K and ferromagnetic to canted spin glass (CSG) state at Tf ≤ 125K is observed. The time dependence of remanent magnetization shows a non-equilibrium spin dynamics in the CS...

We report systematic investigations of the magnetic superconducting properties of the new superconducting materials (NS): New high temperature superconductors (HTS), Organic superconductors (OS), fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, MgB2 etc. We show that, contrary to conventional superconductors where the superconducting state can be coherent over several tenths of km, the macroscopic coherence ran...
متن کاملMicromagnetic imaging to determine the nature of the ferromagnetic phase transition in La(0.7)Ca(0.3)MnO3.
There is considerable controversy surrounding the nature of the paramagnetic to ferromagnetic phase transition in La(0.7)Ca(0.3)MnO3. We have used transmission electron microscopy to determine whether the phase transition is first or second order. On warming through the transition point, the ferromagnetic phase retreats from the sample surface as it is replaced by the paramagnetic phase. This c...
